Bonjour!

Benja Cuque Chanel (he/him)

After spending two years in Peru doing volunteer service as a
LDS Church missionary, Benja developed a passion and commitment to social work and human development.
Initially from Guatemala, he pursued his academic degree at Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT. Where he graduated with a B.A in Dance Performance.

In 2016 He spent a summer study abroad in Beijing China and was featured at the BYU Kennedy Center Alumni Magazine for his works and efforts to bring cultures together through the arts. Right after this experience he created the Contemporary Ballet Theater Dance Company. A non-profit that brought the performing arts to Rehab and Nursing Homes.

He is the founder of Setú, a nonprofit that focuses on social work, human development, human rights, and fitness. Due to his works of creating a safe and diverse space to the latin and LGBTQIA+ community in SLC, Utah,  He has been featured in I totally Relate!, Other People’s Stories podcast, SLUG Magazine, and Salt Lake City Weekly Magazine.
He is currently an Ambassador for Lululemon and a wellness coach, eager to create a safe space for minorities in the Salt Lake Area.
